Admitting your wrong can be difficult, especially when your own words speak the truth back to you. I wrote a personal letter to a friend in June of 2018.
I opened a saved copy yesterday to reread the contents. And the words of truth spoke to my own heart. I’ve been doing the same thing, going in the wrong direction.
“I fill my mind with speculations, theories, and searched for things to explain past sufferings and this dark and sinful world. The very things I’ve consumed are driving a wedge between Christ and me.”
A Copy of the Letter
I’ve taken a moment to read about pharmakeia and the theories behind the Word. I can’t say I don’t agree with the information.
The problem is, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers and rulers of the darkness.”
This world is Satan’s domain and has been since the fall of Adam and Eve. That will not change until Christ’s return.
And more importantly, “darkness cannot drive out darkness” only the light of Christ can drive the darkness away.
I’ve watched you consume and fill your mind with speculations, theories, and all sorts of knowledge to explain this dark and sinful world.
In doing so, the devil has gained a strong foothold in your mind. This information poisons your mind and takes your focus off the one who matters.
It’s Driving a Wedge between You and Christ
The very things you consume are driving a wedge between you and Christ. The battle against the forces of darkness and sin is over. Christ defeated the enemy on the cross at Calvery.
Our focus should be on the Word of God. And our task is to be a light for Christ in a darkened world. His Word is the only power we need to defeat the enemy.
I ask you kindly STOP focusing on the darkness and let the light of Christ back into your mind by reading His Word daily.
Don’t worry about the darkness of sin in this world or how it works. For our redemption is already paid for. And was sealed by the blood of Christ on the cross at Calvary.
I fear, until you do, the Lord will continue giving you over to a reprobate mind. You must renew your mind with the Word of God. Not the knowledge explaining darkness.
And you’re right; there is no medication to fix the problem. It’s a choice only you can make to resist the devil so that he will flee.
You said, “I don’t need to read the Bible.” I ask you, do you want to be healed? If so, then seek God with all of your mind and heart in His Word.
And stay far away from learning of the darkness of sin! It’s a trap set by the adversary to keep you away from a loving God who has redeemed us.
Admitting Your Wrong
This letter profoundly spoke to my own heart. I, too, have followed the same path in trying to explain the darkness of abuse.
I fell into the trap of seeking knowledge and understanding theories. Was trying to help others overcome suffering without the Word of God.
I’m admitting the wrong.
I made a grave mistake. I need to stop focusing on the darkness and stay in the Word of God daily. The past is the past, and it can’t be changed.
The focus of my writings should be on the glorious things God has done for me. How He restored and changed my life. And, more importantly, how He can do the same for you.
Being wrong is not bad if you learn a valuable lesson.
That’s how God teaches us a new way to live. He points out the wrong way and directs you to the right path again. And your willingness to listen will dictate the outcome.
